All students in Years 7 & 8 follow a broad and balanced curriculum comprising the following subjects:

English including drama, mathematics, science, history, geography, religious education, physical education, modern foreign languages, music, technology including food technology, information technology, art including ceramics in Year 8 , textiles in Year 9.

In Years 8 and 9 a second language is introduced for most students although less able linguists continue to concentrate on one language, using additional time to develop their ICT skills.

To complete their programme of studies students also select optional courses from a wide range of subjects leading to a variety of qualifications.
