16-19 Tuition Fund

 

2022 – 2023

This plan intends to outline the main approaches which will be used to support students within the16-19 provision to catch up due to the pandemic. A focus will be on those students who have not attained a Grade 6 in GCSE Eng and/or Maths and would require catch-up support. Students who meet the bursary fund eligibility criteria and would require catch-up to reach their full potential. Following this tuition will be provided for those in the top 27% of deprived areas using the IMD.

Strategies employed – Target Academic Support

EEF evidence consistently shows that targeted academic support can have a large positive impact on pupil progress. At Whickham school we intend to support pupils with the intervention strategies outlined below

  • 1 to 1 tuition
  • Small group intervention

2021 – 2022

Statement

2020 – 2021

Statement

The funds allocated through the 16 to 19 tuition fund will support KS5 students who must or wish to sit  November 2020 and summer 2021 exams in order to gain a grade 4 or 5. The fund aims to initially provide students with one to one or small group tuition. Students will undergo small group tuition (6 learners max), some one to one tuition in addition to their timetabled lessons. These funds are allocated to disadvantaged students as a priority. Tuition will support them in achieving a grade 4+ in both GCSE English & Maths.
