Curriculum

At Whickham School, we are pleased to offer a diverse curriculum that provides routes for success for all our students. At KS4, we provide a number of conventional GCSEs that offer established academic pathways, contributing towards the new measure of the English Baccalaureate. Yet we also offer a number of vocational pathways through our Btec and Diploma courses that enable students to learn in applied contexts. This provision continues at Key Stage 5 where over 35 different courses are offered in the form of A-levels, Btec course and Diploma.

Our taught curriculum is enhanced by an extensive extra-curricular program me which provide opportunities to extend learning beyond the curriculum. We also provide Rich Experience Weeks where students engage with experiences and activities that enhance their social, creative and team-working skills.
