Whickham School is proud to announce that it has been awarded Artsmark Gold status. This highly prestigious and much coveted award recognises the outstanding achievement of our students in arts based subjects, alongside their active and extensive participation in a wide range of arts activities. MATHS REVISION TIMETABLE AVAILABLE ONLINE

Revision timetable for year 10 + 11s Grade B to A star – Well done on achieving your grade C’s. You must now turn your attention to focusing on some of the harder topics from the higher paper. Judo @ Whickham School

The Premier League 4 Sport arrives at Whickham School Starting Friday the 24th February. Newburn Judo Club have been working with Newcastle United to raise awareness and increase participation in our chosen Sport!  

This is a Great Opportunity for students to get involved as the Football Club will provide Tickets for match Days and other initiatives surrounding the Football Club and they want us to create a Judo Team to visit Everton on the last Day of the season to have a Fun Judo Session with them and go to the Game afterwards at Goodison Park.

The British Judo Association will also provide you with a License after 4 weeks of Training, FREE!

Sessions are every Friday after school – All students are welcome.

CERN/Geneva

There will be a trip to CERN and Geneva for students who will be in Years 12+13 next year in November 2012. There will be a meeting for all interested students and parents in the sixth form building at 7pm on Wednesday 29th February 2012.

Students from Whickham School & Sports College take part in the NCS (National Citizens Service)

Students from Whickham School and Sports College took part in the NCS (National Citizens Service) during the summer holidays as part of Gateshead Councils Postive Futures Programme. This involved 2 weeks worth of residential experience, trips to the Lake District and organsing an event called the urban games They gained a nationally recognised qualification (NCS) and are currently working with Gateshead Council during active lunctimes to develop their skills.

A LEVEL RESULTS

Yr13 students secured the best ever A level results in the school’s history with a 99% pass rate and 54% of all grades being A* to B.

GCSE RESULTS

Excellent GSCE Results 2011. x5 A* – C grades = 95%, x5 A* – C grades (Eng & Maths) = 71%. An overall increase of 14% on previous years.
