Parents

We work hard to maintain our excellent links with parents and the community, and we are constantly looking for ways of enhancing these relationships.

Hearing the voice of our parents is extremely important to us. Whickham School has a Parents Forum which provides a platform for parents to discussing school matters, which are of concern to both students and parents. We meet of each half term in the evening for a couple of hours of healthy debate. Sometimes a member of staff is brought in to deliver information on a topic requested by our parents, and frequently the agenda is made up of issues which are topical at the time. Although the Parents’ Forum does not have the brief to make decisions in its own right, the comments it provides informs our decision making process and creates a balance of opinion.
