Time: 16:00 – 17:30
Location: Main Hall, Whickham School, NE16 5AR

Overview

The solar system is home to millions of ugly, potato shaped lumps of “rubble” ranging in size from a few meters to 100s of kilometers.  What are these “asteroids”, how do bits of them land on earth as meteorites, and what can they tell us about the formation of the earth?

Join us to explore the minor bodies of the solar system, including rocky asteroids, icy comets, and get hands on with actual meteorites you can look at and hold.
