 In 2011 a new sixth form centre was opened that provided students with the outstanding facilities they deserve.  The new sixth form centre includes a common area, study area, cafeteria, classrooms and a suite of computers for sixth form use.

Academic progress is outstanding and the sixth form is one of the top performing post-16 institutions in the North East.

The vast majority of out sixth formers are successful in applying to universities including Oxford and Cambridge. The school has an experienced team of staff and places a great deal of emphasis on supporting students during their applications through UCAS to university. In addition all students are given extensive support through the external Gateshead careers service. We also provide support for students who wish to make applications for further education or who wish to go into employment.
