Year 10 and 11 Poland Trip

A group of year 10 and 11 students will be going to Poland from Thursday 22nd October to Sunday 25th October. The group will be staying in the Jewish Quarter in the city of Krakow. During their time in Krakow students will visit the wartime ghetto of Podgorze, Schindler’s Factory, working Jewish Synagogues, a Jewish Cemetery and building of the old Jewish community. They will also go to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former concentration camp.

They will end their visit by going Wieliczka Salt Mines, the oldest operational salt mine in Europe, which has been working for over 700 years.

Whilst the group are away they will be keeping written and video diaries. These will be used to feedback their experiences to other students next term.

In Preparation for their visit a Holocaust Survivor will be giving his testimony on Monday 12th October at 6pm. This has been organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust.
