We would like to welcome all students back for the start of what promises to be another successful and active academic year at Whickham School.
The school site has undergone significant improvements over the summer break and students will benefit from a new library, a new Sixth Form Centre with a much improved Common Room, along with ICT and quiet study facilities. The Science department has a refurbished suite of science laboratories whilst the Maths department has moved to a new suite of rooms. The drama department has moved into an enhanced Drama Studio. Our overall rooming capacity is now better than ever and should help to provide the foundation for a successful year.
In addition, over 250 new computers have been installed and by October, every classroom will benefit from either an interactive whiteboard or projector. A number of smaller ICT suites have been created to heighten access to ICT across the school.
