To celebrate the Angel of the North's tenth birthday a giant cake created specially by school children is being assembled at the Baltic Square on Gateshead Quayside from 12pm on Saturday 10th May, 2008.
Year 8 students at Whickham took part in making sections of the Angels wings. Those students have been invited to the traditional street party to slot their piece in place and to tuck into Fairtrade drinks and soups made from produce grown by local allotment owners. They will also get to taste the cake.
